Choosing the Right Tools to Market Your Spa

There once was a time when word of mouth was the best way to market yourself or your business. While word of mouth is still a great way to market your business or present and new product—marketing campaigns have far more benefits, some of which include:
  • Promotion of your business
  • Improving business profits
  • Enhanced brand recognition
With a  marketing campaign, we were able to address the issue of people being unaware of the new spa called Pleasurable Moments Spa and Wellness Center that is opening soon in Greenville, SC.  Currently, there is no spa located in the downtown Greenville area so the campaign was able to inform both residential and nonresidential people about the products and services that the spa will offer.

Software as a Service (Saas)

During the campaign, I came across several amazing internet tools and products that I was able to utilize or integrate into the campaign to make it more of a success. First, I researched several different SaaS (Software as a Service) options.  SaaS products could be used in a variety of aspects, such as scheduling, budgeting, creating slideshows, recording audio, or remote access software. One of the SaaS options that I choose to use was Google DocsGoogle Docs is a suite of office applications that runs in a web browser which requires no software downloads or installs. In this campaign, Google Docs will enable the team to work together on documents, access and edit files, and allow us to see the words the team is typing in real time.

Another SaaS product that is used in the campaign is AnimotoAnimoto is a powerful yet simple and easy to use web application that allows you to create videos from your own personal video clips, photos, and music. With Animoto, I was able to create and present a short video on a FireFox Add-on called Evernote Web Clipper. Evernote Web Clipper will allow the team to save anything that they see online, including text, links and images into a created Evernote account. It will help them clip webpages and other things of interest and save them for later use.

Custormer Relationship Management (CRM) Software

After the spa is running well, and have built a substantial amount of clientele and contacts, it will most likely benefit from a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program. A CRM program is software that is designed to help businesses with their relationship with their customers; allowing an easier and more accurate way to stay in contact with the customers as well as focus on the business/customer relationship. For the campaign, the CRM program we chose to go with is NetSuite. NetSuite will not only reduce overhead cost, but will allow us to organize and track contact with the customers. This will enable us to know and have access to customers who are expecting callbacks, customers who were potential sales leads and those who are unhappy with their recent service.

Email Marketing

Another very important tool that should be used in the campaign is an Email Marketing service, like Constant Contact. With Constant Contact a news letter can be sent to your customers keeping them informed about whats going on at the spa. Whether its new products, new services or weekly promotions, your customers will always be up-to-date with the spa. Of course this service would be utilized once you have built up your clientele and able to keep track of them.

              Rapid Prototyping Tools

As far as the business; when it comes to new products and processes, staying a step ahead is very important in the business world. Rapid prototyping tools help a business remain on top of the competition. They can be a source of creativity as well as enable users to interact with the product therefore allowing the developer to receive feedback. For example, GUI Design Studio. This prototyping tool is a standalone user interface design and interactive tool that supports the design of windows desktop applications, web applications and embedded or custom applications. This software is used by project managers, consultants, software designers, business analysts, user experience professionals and develops; and is used to document product ideas, create project proposals, and create design mock-ups. GUI Design Studio will enable the designers to share design files and work on the same project at the same time.

Web Blogs

One other tool that can be used in the marketing campaign is blogging. Blogging is another way to keep customers informed and up-to-date on products and services or just to present general news about the spa.  Blogging has become quite popular over the last few years and is a great way to focus on specific topics anywhere from personal to business.

Internet Security

To conclude, I wanted to address the issues Internet Security. Whether its privacy concerns with technology, social networks, devices or software... its nothing we should take lightly because they are major and legitimate concerns for businesses as well as personal users. Its very important that we take a step in the right direction to ensure that the entire business; including employee and customer data is secure. Investing in the right software and hardware and making sure that they are continuously updated is a great way in taking the right precautions and making sure that the businesses data is secure and privacy is not invaded.

Utilizing all the tools that I mentioned above I feel like the campaign will be a major success from start to completion.
